Within the home and hobbyist space, UV resin and 2-part epoxy are the two most commonly used casting resins. They’re frequently used for artistic purposes such as creating jewelry or decorations, but also within electronic projects in order to provide extra support or protection. This talk will provide a brief overview of the materials properties, advantages and drawbacks, safety considerations, and pitfalls to watch out for. A walkthrough of the casting process will be given during a live demonstration, with the resulting item being available for handling and examination at the conclusion of the talk.
